our story
Alliance was born out of a moment of chaos.
The Story: I was slated to mix audio for a client (a local church) one Sunday. The pastor made a last minute decision to do a closing song after his sermon. It would have been one of the songs that we participated in during the worship portion at the beginning of the service. As he finished up his sermon and invited the worship team back onto stage, I prepared for the song to start and expected nothing out of the norm. UNTIL….. when the song started I heard commotion behind me. Some one was saying “the singers don’t have any lyrics”. I heard someone else say, “how do we get lyrics on the confidence monitor?” Another person was running around asking if anyone knew why the presentation software wasn’t working. As I looked up at the worship team I could tell there was a slight panic on everyone face as they lost confidence, in the confidence monitor…… At that moment, I stepped away from the sound board, when over to the presentation computer, made the necessary change, and everything went back to normal.
After the service was over, I found myself giving the volunteers (the ones working in the production booth) a crash course on troubleshooting the problem and at the same time having the worship leader come to me asking if I would be willing to train their team on best practices for using and troubleshooting ProPresenter.
This led to me seeing such a gap in the experience of organizations who rely on volunteers or staff to run their AV. From church’s who may not have the resources to hire a full time staff member or business’s who may not want to hire a full time staff member, Alliance was formed for that main reason. To provide professional AV resources to those who don’t have them at a cost that matches the need.
